An Introduction

Before I get too far along, I wanted to offer an introduction to those who may not know me. My background is in photojournalism; I’ve worked at several newspapers and made photographs for a variety of outlets. Throughout my career the most satisfying photographs I have made are those that have been brimming with strong emotion that tell a story about the moment the people in the images are experiencing.

There is nothing more sublime than being physically close with my camera to people experiencing euphoric joy and happiness. I’ve said it before - I’m in love with love and I’m in love with love stories and to be the one to tell them is a tremendous privilege. (I love a great rom-com - When Harry Met Sally, You’ve Got Mail, Runaway Bride). In a world with so much chaos who doesn’t want to be around people who love each other? That’s part of the reason I am making this shift to documenting micro weddings, portraits, elopments - as a Rochester-based wedding photographer, I want to do it all. Specializing in small weddings allows me to be able to capture a kind of intimacy and quiet moments that can be more challenging to find at larger weddings.

Wedding days can be inherently stressful. I’d love to be the quiet, calm, fly-on-the-wall presence at one of the most memorable days of your life. When you let me in, I’ll capture moments no one else sees or knew took place. But you will because I’ll be there with my camera.
