A Joyful, Intimate Wedding on Prudence Island – Chris & Aviva
At the end of May, I had the honor of photographing my friends Aviva and Chris’ wedding on Prudence Island, Rhode Island—a quiet, ferry-accessed stretch of land surrounded by ocean and birdsong. It was one of those days that felt suspended in time: a slow morning, a heartfelt ceremony, and a gathering filled with laughter, tears, and familiar joy.
This wedding was small by design—just close friends and family gathered under open skies, with minimal frills and maximum heart. And that’s exactly the kind of celebration I love to photograph.
There’s something about small weddings that lets the real moments breathe. No big production, no timeline panic—just people fully present with each other.
Aviva and Chris chose to center their day around connection, not performance. They said their vows overlooking Narragansett Bay, with the breeze off the water and the sound of waves in the distance. Afterward, guests shared a casual lunch at a long table under the sun—passing dishes, swapping stories, and soaking in the easy joy of being together. I got to blend into the background, letting the natural rhythm of the day unfold while capturing the quiet magic as it happened.
If you’re planning a small wedding—something personal, heartfelt, and entirely yours—I’d love to be there with my camera. I specialize in documenting intimate weddings with a photojournalistic eye: no posing for the sake of posing, just honest images that reflect the love and the people that matter most.
Whether it’s on an island, in a backyard, or at city hall, I believe small weddings deserve big attention. If that sounds like your kind of celebration, I’d love to talk.
